Our clinic uses Laser Enhanced Decompression Therapy for Superior Healing
What is Decompression Therapy?
This therapy gently and rhythmically stretches the spine and pumps the spinal discs creating significantly enhanced flow of fluid and nutrients to help rehydrate and nourish the disc and support healing. The pumping also helps to reposition disc bulges and herniations toward the center of the disc where they belong and away from sensitive spinal nerves.. This process helps to:
- Reduce pressure on spinal discs and nerves
- Reposition herniated or bulging discs
- Improve circulation to injured areas
- Accelerate the body’s natural healing response
The therapy is performed while you lie comfortably on a decompression table. The computer-controlled device precisely adjusts the angle and force of traction, targeting the specific area of concern.
What Conditions can it help?
Spinal decompression therapy helps to restore hydration and nutrient flow to spinal tissues which helps to reduce and heal:
- Herniated or bulging discs
- Degenerative disc disease
- Sciatica (pain radiating down the leg)
- Spinal stenosis
- Facet syndrome
- Chronic lower back or neck pain
- Spondylolisthesis
- Cervical Radiculopathy
Is It Right for You?
Not everyone is a candidate for spinal decompression therapy. During your initial consultation, we will conduct a comprehensive assessment—including a physical exam and review of your medical history—to determine if decompression therapy is the right solution for your condition.
Why use Class IV laser at the same time?
Using the Class IV laser along with the decompression significantly speeds the healing process compared with decompression alone. High powered Class IV laser light penetrates up to 10cm into the tissues, targeting deep muscles, ligaments and disc tissue to promote circulation and stimulate healing of deep tissues that Class III lasers can’t reach.
Decompression Therapy FAQs
Why is our decompression table cutting-edge?
Our table uses cutting edge technology to provide the greatest number of positioning options for decompression. This ensures a faster result from therapy. Our table uses pull patterns that require less force and less time than most treatments making decompression with us more comfortable and very safe.
Is Spinal Decompression Painful?
No. Most patients feel a gentle stretch or pressure relief. It’s a comfortable, non-invasive treatment, and any mild soreness afterward is uncommon and temporary.
How Does It Work?
The therapy gently stretches the spine, creating negative pressure in the discs. This can relieve pressure on nerves and encourage disc healing by improving nutrient flow.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Most patients need 12 – 20 sessions over several weeks. Your chiropractor will create a treatment plan based on your condition and goals.
Is it Safe?
Our KDT Neuroflex table is designed to provide decompression in many different positions ensuring your comfort and optimum results. Then your sentence about transient pain.
Are There Any Side Effects?
Spinal decompression therapy is generally well-tolerated. Some patients experience mild soreness or stiffness after the first few sessions, similar to the feeling after light exercise. Serious side effects are very rare. Your chiropractor will monitor your progress throughout your treatment to ensure optimal results.
